Fashion in Films

In fashion, Movies on August 15, 2009 at 7:44 pm

Recently I’ve been blogging about films or television related to fashion, most of them being at least somewhat noteworthy. So I thought it’d be fun to see what else is out there. I searched for films solely about fashion, whether it was a documentary on a designer or a movie based on a novel having to do with fashion. There are plenty of movies that inspired fashion sense or trends, like Breakfast at Tiffany’s or Annie Hall, but these are solely about fashion. So, while the list is sure to be incomplete, here’s what I came up with so far: (If you have any to add, please do so!)

Pret-a-Porter

Unzipped

Fashions of 1934

The Intern

Lagerfeld Confidential

Valentino: The Last Emperor

Seamless

American Gigolo

Yves Saint Laurent

Zoolander?

Marc Jacobs & Louis Vuitton

The Devil Wears Prada

Can we even include Confessions of a Shopaholic? Why not. It’s not a classic but it served it’s purpose.
